 Ginger Compresses

Ginger is one of nature’s top anti-inflammatory foods.

Ginger compresses can be used over swellings, arthritic joints, painful muscles, and parts of body that suffer from poor circulation or cold.

Ginger compresses are renowned for stimulating kidney circulation.

 

Equipment:

  • 1 gallon water
  • 4 -5 inches fresh ginger
  • Heavy Duty Rubber Gloves

Directions:Ginger Pot

  1. Bring water to a boil.
  2. While the water is boiling, grate ginger on the side.
  3. Lower flame to stop boiling.
  4. Place the grated ginger in a piece of cheesecloth or thin cotton.
  5. Tie it in a knot.
  6. Squeeze this ginger sack into the hot water.
  7. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  8. DO NOT BOIL.
  9. Lay a thin towel over the part of your body you are treating{example, lower back for kidneys}.
  10. Dip another towel in the hot water, squeeze tightly and lay over the thin towel.
  11. Cover with another dry towel to conserve heat.
  12. Change the ginger towel when it no longer feels hot.
  13. Repeat the ginger compress until the skin turns bright pink.Ginger Compress
  14. Do this two to three times a week.
  15. Note: The ginger water can be used 2- 3 times as long as you don’t boil it while re-heating.
